The COVID-19 pandemic presents a challenge, unlike anything Hope has faced in modern times. So many of you have called and emailed, asking how you can help Hope continue to serve the needs of every member of our community.

Hope has already implemented strategies that will help all of us manage this crisis while maintaining academic continuity and support for our Hope students.

You can help by supporting these existing efforts:

  • The Hope Fund supports student scholarships and makes a Hope education accessible for many who might otherwise deem it impossible. Students' financial need may be greater than expected due to the current crisis. These funds can be deployed immediately and will be needed until Hope's endowment can fully address student need.
  • Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) offers both a breadth and depth of services that are critically important for the health and wellbeing of our students during this time that their lives have been turned upside down.
  • David O. Otai ’12 International Student Resource and Activity Fund supports the international student community during a time when many of our international students are still on campus and not able to return home. It also supports cultural activities such as the international student orientation, Explore Michigan, IMAGES: A Reflection of Cultures, and the International Food Fair, as well as other activities that allow them to thrive at Hope - their home away from home!
  • Keeping Hope Food Pantry supports domestic and international students staying on campus this summer without access to dining services and limited work hours across campus. Your gift will help these students minimize their food costs this summer.
  • Keeping Hope Scholarships supports the endowment to help make the Hope experience more affordable and accessible and allows us to be more sustainable in the future.
  • COVID-19 Relief Fund helps bring students safely to campus this fall. Your gift will help provide personal protection equipment and other supplies our students, faculty and staff need as we open campus for the 20.21 academic year.

Funds not used during the current COVID-19 crisis will be used to support similar purposes as needs arise in the future.
